An Enchanting Day of Butterfly Exploration!

The PG Department of Zoology, in collaboration with IQAC, celebrated the Big Butterfly Month with a captivating Butterfly Walk event. This exciting and educational experience was made possible by the dedication of our key figures and the enthusiastic participation of students.

Director and Secretary CA Subhash Agarwal kicked off the event by inspiring everyone with his words on biodiversity assessment, emphasizing the importance of preserving our natural world.

Principal Dr. Ravi Sharma shared valuable insights into the significance of butterflies in our ecosystem, highlighting their role as indicators of environmental health.

Vishvajeet Jaroli, HOD of PG Department of Zoology and District coordinator of BIG BUTTERFLY MONTH 2023 briefed about the event and coordinated the event seamlessly.

Our event's success was greatly attributed under the guidance of Assistant Professors Kanika Gupta, Vandana Joshi, and Sonali Khiyani, who assisted in butterfly identification and evaluation, enriching the learning experience for all participants.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated administration members, including Amit Dadhich, Ninku Tak, Neha Sharma, and Simranjeet Kaur, provided crucial support to make the event a resounding success.

Throughout the Butterfly Walk, participants had the privilege of observing 10 different butterfly species, contributing to our understanding of local biodiversity. In total, an astounding 226 butterflies were spotted during the event, 30 students enthusiastically joined us for the walk, demonstrating their passion for nature and their commitment to learning about the world around us.

This Butterfly Walk was a remarkable celebration of nature and science, reinforcing the importance of preserving our environment and understanding its delicate balance. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures in the world of Zoology!
